Hispanagar congratulates the success of the company Ficosterra in its joint collaboration projects for the development of fertilizers and biofertilizers through algae and microorganism-based technologies, which allow for better crop and plant development while respecting the environment. A very attractive alternative for crops, absolutely innovative and in line with what the new European policies demand.

Ficosterra arises from the Hispanagar Applied Research Institute as a spin-off company, and is the result of the continuous drive in the search for innovative applications related to algae that Hispanagar has been carrying out over the last few decades.

Recently, Ficosterra received the QIA, Quality Innovation Award, in the micro-enterprises & startup category in Beijing for its work in the research and transformation of algae for soil regeneration and optimization of agricultural yields, as a new paradigm of agriculture. Likewise, on March 22, the company was awarded the Emprendedor XXI prize from Castilla y Leon, promoted by CaixaBank, during the “DayOne Innovation Summit” innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship event, a program created by CaixaBank to bring together the main players in the entrepreneurial, technological, and investment ecosystem of Castilla y León.

Ficosterra’s products are 100% organic and are registered with the MAPAMA, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, as a humic organic amendment suitable for use in organic agriculture (registration SHC).
