Derivatized agaroses: discover our extensive catalog

Derivatized agaroses are obtained by modifying their natural chemical structure. This process provides them with different final properties, thus expanding the range of potential applications.

At Hispanagar we have two categories of derivatized agaroses. On the one hand, we have Low Melt agaroses, with low melting and gelling points compared to standard agaroses. The low melting temperature makes it possible to recover intact, biologically active nucleic acids, undamaged by temperature. The low gelling temperature ensures that the agarose will be in a liquid state in a temperature range in which in-gel manipulations can be performed without prior DNA extraction.

Molecular Screens, on the other hand, are also chemically modified to obtain a structure that improves the separation of small nucleic acid fragments and the resolution between fragments with very similar size. Even when used at high concentrations, the result is very clear and transparent gels.
