FOOD AGAR
GOLDAGAR

Goldagar is a food grade agar extracted from selected red seaweeds of the type Gelidium from different origins. It is used in different food applications such us confectionery, bakery, glazing, dairy and meat products. Goldagar represents the company´s premium food agar type commercialized since its beginnings. The low gelling point temperature that this high quality agar offers makes it very appropriate for certain specific applications where solutions must be kept liquid for a longer time. Another important characteristic of this agar is its stability under autoclaving, which makes it ideal for use in all those products that need to be sterilized. It also perfoms well in adverse pH conditions.

AGARITE

Agarite™ is the newest line of food grade agar from Hispanagar to complement the traditional range. Obtained from Gracilaria seaweed, its excellent compatibility with high sugar content makes it highly recommended for different uses in confectionery, bakery, jams, icings and glazings. It offers a higher gel point than Goldagar, which makes it ideal in products that require a faster gelling time. Hispanagar offers a complete range of different gel strengths within the Agarite™ line.

SCIENTIFIC AGAR

BACTERIOLOGICAL AGAR

Bacteriological agar is used in the preparation of culture media and in other bacteriological applications. Its main advantage is the absence of inhibitors which could hinder optimal development of microorganisms. In addition, bacteriological agar also possesses other attributes such as premium transparency, high hysteresis and very reliable reproducibility.
Responding to different market standards, two types of bacteriological agar coexist in the Hispanagar portfolio: European has a little higher gel strength and is used in concentrations of 1.0% to 1.2%. American-type agar gives lower gel strength and is used at concentrations ranging from 1.2% to 1.6%.

PURIFIED BACTERIOLOGICAL AGAR

This highly purified agar is recommended for uses in Biochemistry and in Microbiology. Through the purification process the product demonstrates a salt content essentially lower than any other bacteriological agar. This process also decreases the small oligosaccharide fractions and increases the agarose content. Hispanagar has established and maintains strict performance controls over the physicochemical, biochemical and bacteriological properties of this product which guarantee its exceptional behaviour in all possible applications, including biochemical, bacteriological and mycological applications.

PTC AGAR

This agar is designed for use in plant tissue culture micropropagation techniques.
It exhibits a high gel strength at greater than 1000 g/cm², is colorless with good clarity. PTC agar is free from impurities and inhibitors that could interfere with the development of plant cellular growth.

All Hispanagar agar types meet the specifications of the U.S. Food Chemical Codex (FCC) as well as the Directive of the European Community (EEC) applicable EEC number: E-406 (Agar-Agar)

BEEF EXTRACT POWDER This product is prepared from very low fat bovine skeletal muscle and marrow, which is spinal column free with no tendons. Beef Extract Powder is highly nutritious and is used in preparing microbiological culture media. It is

HEART INFUSION (BOVINE) Heart Infusion (Bovine) is a specially formulated preparation of dried infusion from bovine hearts, supplied as a light, fine powder for use in microbiological culture media.
MEAT PEPTONE (BOVINE) Meat Peptone (Bovine) is an enzymatic digest of animal tissue. It can be incorporated into a variety of liquid and solid culture media formulations for the cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms.
BRAIN HEART INFUSION (BOVINE) Brain Heart Infusion (Bovine) is a specially formulated preparation of dried extract of beef hearts and brains, supplied as a light, fine powder. For use in microbiological culture media.
BRAIN HEART INFUSION (PORCINE) Brain Heart Infusion (Porcine) is a specially formulated preparation of dried extract of pork hearts and pork brains supplied as a light, fine powder. It is a suitable substitute for Brain Heart Infusion (Bovine) in selected microbiological culture media.
GELATIN PEPTONE Gelatin Peptone is a pancreatic digest of porcine skin. It is low in fermentable carbohydrates and is used in culture media, especially for non-fastidious microorganisms. It is also used in fermentation studies.
HEART INFUSION (PORCINE) Heart Infusion (Porcine) is a specially formulated preparation of dried infusion from pork hearts supplied as a light, fine powder. It is a suitable substitute for heart infusion (bovine) in select microbiological culture media.
MEAT PEPTONE (PORCINE) Meat Peptone (Porcine) is an enzymatic digest of porcine animal tissue. It can be substituted for Meat Peptone (Bovine) in culture media formulations.
PORK HEART DIGEST
(PD POWDER)
Pork Heart Digest (PD Powder) is an enzymatic digest of pork heart tissue, supplied as a fine powder. It is used in microbiological culture media such as Columbia Agar/Broth.
MEAT EXTRACT POWDER This product is prepared from meat (not bovine) skeletal muscle and marrow. Meat extract powder is highly nutritious and is used in preparing microbiological culture media. YEAST EXTRACT Yeast Extract is a water soluble extract of selected autolyzed yeast cells. It is rich in vitamins, especially Bcomplexes, amino acids and other growth factors. It is used in many microbiological culture media formulations as an excellent growth source.

CASEIN MEAT PEPTONE Meat casein peptone is composed peptone (Meat and Casein). It is used in many fields such as general microbiology fermentation for the large scale production.
CASEIN PEPTONE TT Casein peptone type TT is a peptone containing all the amino acids found in casein as well as large peptide fractions. It is an excellent nutrient for use in culture media for producing toxins. Casein peptone TT was developed specifically to achieve maximal toxin production.
CASEIN PEPTONE TYPE I (TRYPTONE) Casein Peptone Type I is a pancreatic digest of casein containing all the amino acids found in casein as well as larger peptide fractions. It is an excellent nutrient for use in culture media for producing antibiotics, toxins, enzymes and other biological products. This product is widely used in the pharmaceutical and veterinary industries and in diagnostic culture media.
CASEIN PEPTONE TYPE II Casein Peptone Type II is a pancreatic digest of casein. It can be used in the manufacture of toxins, vaccines, enzymes and microbiological culture media, especially in blood-containing media.
CASEIN PEPTONE TYPE III Casein peptone type III is a pancreatic digest of casein containing all the amino acids found in casein as well as larger peptide fractions. Its unique properties of digestion and high phosphate content make it the hydrolysates of choice of many organisms.
CASEIN PEPTONE TYPE V Casein peptone type V is a pancreatic digest of casein in the form of white powder. This peptone is widely used for general application as a Bacteriological nutrient with excellent solubility and clarity in solution.

SOY PEPTONE Soy peptone is a papaic/pancreatic digest of defatted soybean meal. It is used in culture media for the cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms including bacteria and fungi. It is an excellent source of vitamins and carbohydrates.
SOY PEPTONE GMO-FREE Soy peptone GMO-free is a specially designed product manufactured similar to Soy Peptone Cat. 103. The raw material to produce this soy peptone is guaranteed to be GMO-FREE. It is recommended for use in microbiological and tissue culture media.
SOY PEPTONE GMO-FREE, ANIMAL-FREE Soy Peptone GMO-Free, Animal-Free is a specially designed product, manufactured in the same way as to Soy Peptone Cat. 103. The raw material to produce this soy peptone is guaranteed to be GMO-Free and Animal-Free
(eliminates TSE/BSE issues). It is recommended for use in microbiological, tissue culture and fermentation media.
OTHER PEPTONES
POLIPEPTONE This peptone is a mixture of Casein Peptone and Meat Peptone. It can be used in general culture media as a superior source of nutrients. The growth of some microorganisms may be better than when the individual peptones are used.
PROTEOSE PEPTONE Proteose Peptone is an enzymatic digestion of animal tissues. It is commonly used in the preparation of culture media for the production of toxins and is utilized in the fermentation industry for starter cultures. It is a highly nutritious source for the growth of a wide range of microorganisms.
PROTEOSE PEPTONE Nº 3 Proteose Peptone Nº 3 is a high quality hydrolysate produced by enzymatic digestion of animal tissues. It is widely used in culture media and has been used extensively in the manufacture of toxins, vaccines, enzymes and other biological products.
BIOTRYPTASE PEPTONE This peptone is manufactured using plant and animals proteins. This peptone is suitable for general culture work and particularly for Brucella species.
