The idea was implemented during the 2019 London Marathon, where the use of plastic bottles was prohibited during the race, marking the first time an athletics event has been organized free of plastic.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>In this way, athletes no longer have to worry about throwing plastic bottles on the ground or in a bin, thus contributing to social awareness of preserving our planet.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><span><span><span>The containers, edible and 100% biodegradable, are made from a membrane based on seaweed.
