Discus fish are considered the kings of the aquarium, not only for their beauty but also for their delicacy. They require a series of care in their feeding and in the quality of the water, which makes them spectacular yet refined fish. If the food or water is not suitable, they can easily get sick or contract parasites, but if they are cared for correctly, they can live up to 12 years.  <\/p>\n

They belong to the cichlid family. They are easily recognized by their characteristic flattened body and round shape. In terms of color, we can find them in shades ranging from dark blue or yellow to white or intense red tones. They can reach up to 40 centimeters and move very quickly. They are native to South America and usually live in the rivers of the Amazon or in lakes with little activity in small communities. <\/p>\n

As we have said, one of the keys to their care is feeding, and it is important that they consume the correct proportions of all the nutrients they need. For this reason, it is becoming increasingly popular to make their own food at home with fish, seafood, fruit, and vegetables with agar-agar.  <\/p>\n

Once the puree is prepared, the problem is how to give it to the discus fish, and that\u2019s where agar-agar comes in. By adding it to the puree, it acquires the necessary consistency for them to eat it and holds up well for several hours without breaking down in the water. Additionally, several portions can be made and frozen without losing the fluffy texture when taken out of the freezer, as would happen with gelatin.    <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
